What is jfk stadium philadelphia?

JFK Stadium was a multi-purpose stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that was built in 1926. The stadium was located in South Philadelphia and was originally known as Sesquicentennial Stadium, as it was built in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. In 1964, the stadium was renamed John F. Kennedy Stadium in honor of the former president.

JFK Stadium was primarily used for football and musical concerts, and had a seating capacity of over 100,000, making it one of the largest stadiums in the United States at the time. The stadium hosted several notable events, including concerts by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Bruce Springsteen, as well as the Live Aid concert in 1985.

Despite its popularity, JFK Stadium fell into disrepair in the 1980s, and it was eventually demolished in 1992 to make way for the construction of the Wells Fargo Center. Today, the site of JFK Stadium is occupied by a parking lot and the Xfinity Live! entertainment complex.
